I didn’t mind this too much because I was in the mood for that kind of character, but I can see why some readers might find the similarities off-putting. I don’t think I’m ever going to love one of Andy Weir’s protagonists more than I liked Mark Watney, but that’s okay. Ryland Grace is a fun, likeable main character. Following the recent announcement of a new novel from The Martian author Andy Weir, the book, titled Project Hail Mary, has already been scooped up by MGM for a cool seven figures. You’re going to want to keep reading and find out how this all turns out – which brings me on to saying that the conclusion is super satisfying, bringing everything together in a masterful way.

The pacing was perfect, except for when I got bogged down in the scientific stuff I didn’t understand. The plot was fantastic!! I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading. He’s also written other novels and short stories, including Artemis and The Egg. He’s a bestselling science fiction author, also known for his breakout novel The Martian (which was adapted into a movie starring Matt Damon). The premise intrigued me! Yes, it’s another guy in an impossible situation who has to work out how to survive, but this time he’s got the lives of everyone on Earth to think about too… The author of Project Hail Mary is Andy Weir.
